We collect only what Sikhna needs to provide a secure, useful learning experience.
2. Information we handle
Account information
When you create an account, we handle your email address, learner name or username, login status, and basic account identifiers. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not stored directly in the Sikhna app.
Learning profile and activity
We may handle placement answers, learning goals, profile settings, completed lessons, saved words, reviews, streaks, and time spent. In the current version, much of this learning activity is stored locally on your device.
Voice playback
When you request pronunciation audio, the Urdu text and playback settings needed for that request are sent securely through Sikhna to an audio-generation provider.
3. How we use information

- To personalize your learning path.
- To remember settings and show progress.
- To provide requested pronunciation audio.
- To respond to support and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal information. Sikhna does not currently display third-party advertising.
4. Service providers
We currently use Supabase for account authentication and backend services, OpenAI for generated Urdu pronunciation audio, Cloudflare for this website and domain services, and Zoho Mail for support email.
5. Retention, security, and your choices
We keep account information while your account is active and only as long afterward as reasonably needed for security, legal, or operational purposes. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing support or visiting the account deletion page.
6. Children and policy changes
Sikhna is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission. We may update this policy as Sikhna grows and will revise the effective date when we do.
